Here’s another dialogue-less short film; this time, a touching story about a bullied kid who – with a piece of chalk (iseewhatyoudidthere) – uses a creative outlet to overcome.
Also, the kid (Justen Beer) is amazing.
Man, the output of quality works from animation schools lately has been phenomenal; this dialogue-free animated short film by 4 Supinfocom Arles students is no exception..
Also, here’s the trailer for Zero Dark Hour, the new film from Hurt Locker director Katherine Bigelow about the events of SEAL Team Six and the hunt for Osama Bin Laden. Slightly underwhelming, but I’m still looking forward to it.

Sixty-seven years ago today the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Both History and Life have posted galleries of lesser seen photos depicting the damage inflicted and Mental Floss profiled the crew of the Enola Gray and what they had to say about the bombing.

Joseph Nicéphore Niépce’s “View from the Window at Le Gras” was taken in 1826 and is considered the world’s oldest surviving photograph. Starting September 9, the photo, which is usually housed in the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas, will be on display at the Reiss-Engelhorn-Museen Mannheim.
