Gran Torino – Every Clint Eastwood Insult

Happy Birthday Clint you magnificent specimen and example of awesome!

3 Things: Booze

Interestingly, web feed this morning has had a lot of alcohol related videos for some reason. Here are the highlights…

First, a really fun compilation of beer opening methods.

…topped by this guy using a chainsaw:

Opening Beer with Chainsaw

And finally, what could indeed be the world’s best bartender; though admittedly, I’d want him to just poor the damn drinks if I were a patron…

World’s Best Bartender

Also as extra, this beer commercial with Charlie sheen is quite fun.

Supercut of the day: Every Shout Out To The Roots Ever

Nice compilation of what’s probably the only reason to watch Fallon.

History of Whistling | cdza

Was pointed to this fun Pianist in Paris video, a Watch the Throne parody; but their History of Whistling, chronicling 26 songs over 98 years ended up being much more entertaining.

Isaac’s Live Lip-Dub Proposal

I wouldn’t normally post something about a wedding proposal, but this inventively over the top one is pretty damn good…

From love to bingo – Getty Images ad

In my job where using stock photos is necessary (and at times frustrating), it’s refreshing to see this very creative approach in combining 873 images at 15 images a second to create this 1 minute long stop motion short.

Copywriter Sophie Schoenburg and art director Marcus Kotlhar worked 6 months researching images, improving the script and building each scene so they would not only be understood, but would also touch viewers. Sometimes, for example, a scene would look perfect on paper, but the images chosen to depict it were not sufficient or did not perfectly match up to offer the right movement and sense.

Boxing Lessons with Eric Kelly

Having a job is a blessing. Doing something you love is a blessing. Even if the people are… miscreants.

Eric Kelly is a four time US amateur boxing champion who had to hang up his gloves after taking a pool cue to the eye on a night out.

He now trains Wall Street bankers how to box at the Church Street Boxing Gym in New York using one the classic approach to teaching: barraging them with verbal abuse and insults in order to toughen them up.

The Eagleman Stag

Ooh… this one I really like. The Eagleman Stag (directed by Mikey Please) is a stop-motion short that tells the story of Peter Eagleman, who’s always lived with a obsessive predisposition towards time. Wonderful art direction, fantastic animation, a really great soundtrack; all this coupled with a well told story whose themes touches on time, subjectivity and even bits of existentialism… It’s pretty easy to see why this short has been recieving overwhelming acclaim of late.

Commando: The Musical

Christ, this video confirms the fundamental laws of awesome that Arnie should make a musical; or that this should be the blueprint for the upcoming remake I just read that they’re making (really?).

Also, of similar awesomeness is the Amazing Robocop Rap.
