Was wanting to post one or two of these, but honestly, I just want to post everything that makes up the website that is Colossal.
Started up just over two years ago, this blog has been consistent from the get go in finding and posting some of the most inspiring and creative things happening out there and on the internet and my go to guilt trip for not being active enough.
Part of this weekend is dedicated to clearing out and organising the nightmare datascape that is my computer/hard drives/bookmarks; some of these are for my own personal references, but a lot it seems were intended for posting here. So much so actually, I can roughly theme together some of these things. So, until I run out, or find a more interesting way to post these, here are some stop-motion shorts of late…
If you’ve seen the awesome music video for Madeon’s Pop Culture, then this interesting fella will be fairly recognisable. Nathan J Barnatt, playing up a ‘special’ character and looking well out of place at a dance audition for a music video and pulls the proverbial rug out from under them with his moves.
This one was quite amusing off his youtube channel…
But man, if you’ve not seen it yet, you should definitely check out the Pop Culture music video mentioned earlier…
Been somewhat busy again, but no matter. Carrying on a recent trend of posting videos, here are a few more I’ve picked up my website absence…
First off is a reading of ’twas the night before Christmas’ in several impersonated voices.Β Not all are spot on, but the range and ease of transitions are pretty damn impressive in this…
Second for some real good fun is this little animated pokemon short which everyone has probably seen by now but I just love.
And then we have a demonstration by the brilliant folks at MIT of a camera that can capture video of photons traveling at the speed of light.Β Awesome concept?Β Awesome concept.
Here’s a quick slice of some Battlefield 3 gameplay that is just top shelf with perfect choice of music…
And finally, this stop-frame animated short film is just brilliant and effective in its simplicity.
Actually, make that one second to last.Β Thinking about it, I probably should have separated these out more, but meh…Β This one can thematically round out this post where we started with something Christmas and we’ll end with something else Christmas-ish… (if it doesn’t inadvertently ends everything else in the world)…
This is both great and an inspirational reminder for me.
Partly because I’ve been looking to get back into some drawing and free flowing creativity again; but mostly because I just spent the whole weekend locked away in my room playing video games and had to wear pants only twice the whole time.
