With a section dedicated to Nicolas Cage? You betcha.

Video Essay: 135 Shots That Will Restore Your Faith in Cinema

Treat me right baby, I’ve been burned in the past… well, the selection in this video essay by flavourwire is a great range and certainly makes me all the more antsy to get back into some film stuff after all this play who-ha is over. I’m also starting to wonder how much more mileage can be sapped out of Clint Mansell’s score for Moon; a bit more I’d say, only because that score is that awesome.

Anyhow, see how many you can pick out (and extra points for naming the cinematographers). Full list can be found here.

Supercut: Are you CRAZY??

Ziccup is becoming my favourite person on the internet. Here’s his latest super-cut:

Supercut: Sorkinsims

Whether you love or hate the prolific writer, this is a pretty fun collection:

This video is a tribute to the work of Aaron Sorkin: the recycled dialogue, recurring phrases, and familiar plot lines. This is not intended as a critique but rather a playful excursion through Sorkin’s wonderful world of words.

Breaking Bad S1-4 recap

Okay, so it’s another video that uses the Requiem for a Dream overture, but this chronological recap of Breaking Bad’s first four seasons is phenomenally well done and worth a watch before season 5 starts next month (woo!).

Warning: herein contains spoilers…

3 Things: videos

Backpedaling slightly after having mostly posted article links during the last week or so. Inversely, its mostly video content at the moment, so here’s three more random lots of them.

First is fake supercut/recut trailer for “Chuck Norris: The Movie”.

Next, a rather smart fellas re-redition of the original Super Mario Bros. game in 3D:

And lastly, I’ve had no idea how to post this, but essentially, it’s like the many, many, many hidden camera gotcha! videos that’s all over youtube at the moment, but the appeal to this humourous video is that it’s really the lovely ‘host/prankster’ who is the most awkward subject as he tries to use Blink-182 lyrics as pick-up lines.

Gran Torino – Every Clint Eastwood Insult

Happy Birthday Clint you magnificent specimen and example of awesome!
