A Mouthful of Comedy

With an incredibly lazy start to the day, including the chasing of actors and actresses due to scheduling conflicts, no less than three hours of poker and a lot of noodles, we eventually got around to filming some of “Spit Takes: A Mouthful of Comedy”.

So far, we’ve shot about 20% of the film, but we’re all laughing already… only problem is that when you do a video about spitting… well… yeah, it’s messy.

Anyway, more filming will hopefully be done on it tomorrow, else I’m gonna shoot some other stuff. Just for kicks.

Oh and thanks to Dominic, I have discovered the wonderful world of Explosm.net comics. If your a fan of totally sick and twisted humor, but done tastefully well with stick figures… go check it out now. I’ve spent hours going through the wonderfully hilarious comics there and I’m sure you will too.

To be totally looked forward to…

The new US trailer for Michel Gondry’s “The Science of Sleep” is now out. Horray for trailers, cause I’m now even more excited about watching this at the film festival than before.

Downloadable trailer here.

Now back in Auckland and realising I’ve got an arseload of assignments that need to be worked on. It’s kind of a release really, now I’ve got something to work towards and probably not even accomplish during these holidays. Must remember I’m supposed to be a hard working student.

Right, planning is underway on ‘Spit Takes’, a silly short film that hopefully will get the most of filmed this week and edited next week. More on that soon.

And finally, I have a bed to sleep in and dear god, after nearly three months of sleeping on (a) a sofa, (b) a matress and (c) homeless people, it’s good to rest my weary head on something nearing overflowing piles of cold hard cash and thousand dollar hookers.

And because we love video games and the Daily Show…

Back in town

Back in Hamilton for the weekend. Will be visiting some people and basically getting bored in another city.

Also managed to grab some of my old stuff that has been festering in a friend’s garage and send it back up to Auckland. Finally I’ll have a bed to sleep on and a proper (nice) desk to work off of.

Not a helluva lot much else going on. Oh… How many people got letters from the IRD at first saying they were going to send you a rebate for like 85 bucks and then instead send another letter saying you owe them about 900 dollars and no less than three broken fingers? No? Thats a shame.

So… bored…

The holidays are conjealing into this one massive blob of boredom. Made worse by the fact that my car still hasn’t been fixed and I’m on this twisted mentality to constantly save my money to buy as many tickets to the upcoming international film festival next month. Lots of damn good films to see and this time, living in Auckland, I’ve got more and more to choose from.

Also, to make things interesting, I’ve entered a mini contest with some other friends from school in a ‘beard growing contest’. Born out of sheer silliness, I’m starting to feel the repurcusions of it now, as most people know, I can’t grow facial hair for shit and I’m feeling more and more like a hobo that can’t afford a razor with every passing day.

Ah well, plans are underway to shoot a short film next week, so that’ll be interesting to say the least.

Right, time for pizza and wine.

Right…

Theres a lot of finallys going on recently, so here goes.

Finally on holiday from South Seas. It’s been a busy last few weeks and lots of drinking in between. Taking a nice breather from both for three weeks… well… at least the South Seas thing.

Finally picked a website design that I’m happy with. Decided to go for simplicity rather than style. But at least I get to make use of that cool java script code that makes the banner change everytime.

Finally got a room in a flat. I basically upgraded from couch to matress, but at least I get my own room. Joe moved out, which is a real shame, but there’s no hard feeling from all as he just wanted a change and everyone seems happy to have me take up his place.

Apart from that, not a helluva lot more to say. Now that I’m on holiday, have my own room and a freaking desk to actually work off, I’ll be updating this site a little more frequently. It’s either the art gallery or photo gallery going up next, so stay tuned.

Ha! I lied.

No photos up yet. No updates of any kind really. Been both bored, depressed and drunk. A very nasty combination. But I think a trip back to Hamilton over the weekend really help revitalise my go-go ambitions… so far.

Not a helluva lot more to report. Just thought I’d better keep consistent with this blog, cause when I leave something for too long, it grows a life of its own and out of a strange aspect of guilt, I have total fear in touching something that’s been untouched for so long.

Anyway, I’m gonna swig down a few more beers and possibly be in the mood to stare at some more HTML code.

Yeehaw.

Progress…

Okay… getting there. Got a slightly different design going on. Dunno if I like this just yet, but seeing as I’ve spent an arse-monkey’s amount of time refining it, I’ll at least keep it for a while yet.

Still a lot of nuts and bolts to work out and there’s still so much that needs to be transfered over to this domain and redesigned to fit into this new layout. I’m also gonna try and get the comments and archiving system to actually work sometime this week.

As for life news, here’s the jist of it since last time til now…

During my holidays I was made homeless. I found a really nice flat to move into eventually, but upon returning to school found out that there were quite a few people looking for a place to stay. Luckily, I liked a couple of those people and we decided to find a flat together. This was about four of us about four weeks ago. I decided to skip out on that really nice flat and squat at my friends’ place in the meantime. Fast forward to present day and I’m still sleeping on the couch, still looking for a house and the number of people has increased to six.

School-wise I’m making a name for myself and am proving what I’ve always known: I get bored easily. It’s a good course and they throw us a new film project every week or so, but sometimes it’s a little tedious… just a little.

Right, more history of the world to be continued next time. Also hope to get photos uploaded sometime in the next few days.

Finally…

…welcome to my new website. Still under construction, but definitely getting there. The plan is to use this website as a blog first, then a gallery of photos, artworks and eventually films. In the meantime, this about as much as you’ll be seeing for now as I’m quite tired from being a polar bear all weekend. (no bull).
