Fuzz Knuckle

Starting to get a little movied out, but still enjoying it. Mind Game is practically at the top of my list of films seen at this festival and the Science of Sleep is pretty damn close behind. I think i can afford to make it to maybe one or two more films, but that’d be about it for this year.

Thats the one great thing living up here in Auckland. Down in Hamilton, during every film festival season, I’d make a trip to Auckland to get me a copy of the festival booklets and work out how the hell I’m going to see what I want to see in either city during whenever. It’s just nice to have them all in one city for a change.

Anyway, been coming up wiht multiple ideas for short films to be made for the end of year, but have yet to stick to one I actually like and is worth doing in a student film enviorment. I’ll bet our screenwriting lecturer is enjoying recieving pages after pages of different treatments from me, as I’ve simply shut off my filter in handing her stuff and I’ll just drop off whatever now. Gave her five treatments on Friday and I have a feeling I’ve got four more for her tomorrow.

Anyway, because ninjas are cool here is a trailer for one kick arse ninja movie coming up… well… if your into that and turtles… here.

But a more worthwhile trailer to download is Aranofsky’s new film The Fountain to be downloaded here.

Awesomeness

The film festival is back and let me say, Thank You For Smoking, Sympathy For Lady Vengeance and Fearless are pretty damn good and worth watching should it swing by your way.

School starts back up on Monday and I’m dreading the day. Got an arseload of work that needs doing and well… still not as much done as I had hoped to do. Ah well.

Oh and crazy story: I’m bored and don’t have much to do for the day. Our flatmate Sean hasn’t contacted us or anything about when he’s coming back from Japan. I figured, ‘well… It must be sometime today’, so I check out the flight times from Tokyo and there are two coming in at the same time in the afternoon. So I figure, ‘screw it, I got nothing else to do’ and I head on down to the airport and what do you know? He ain’t on the flights and I’ve spent nearly two hours hanging around arrivals. So thats it, I decide to leave and I’m texting flatmate Albert that I’m coming home, when out of the terminal steps Elana from school. Such a freaky cool coincidence it is.

Anyway, I’m tired from doing very little else. Time for some school work to be done.

To be totally looked forward to…

The new US trailer for Michel Gondry’s “The Science of Sleep” is now out. Horray for trailers, cause I’m now even more excited about watching this at the film festival than before.

Downloadable trailer here.

So… bored…

The holidays are conjealing into this one massive blob of boredom. Made worse by the fact that my car still hasn’t been fixed and I’m on this twisted mentality to constantly save my money to buy as many tickets to the upcoming international film festival next month. Lots of damn good films to see and this time, living in Auckland, I’ve got more and more to choose from.

Also, to make things interesting, I’ve entered a mini contest with some other friends from school in a ‘beard growing contest’. Born out of sheer silliness, I’m starting to feel the repurcusions of it now, as most people know, I can’t grow facial hair for shit and I’m feeling more and more like a hobo that can’t afford a razor with every passing day.

Ah well, plans are underway to shoot a short film next week, so that’ll be interesting to say the least.

Right, time for pizza and wine.
